So far Canadian locks have been quite gentle but that does change. Bob sits and enjoys the ride up.
Notice the bridge beyond the lock gates. This must be opened for us to pass through. The lock master is in control of it all.
Magic follows us out
The wild flowers are blooming. The meadow was beautiful!
I'm not sure what it represents - Mother Goose? - but it's sure cute!
Not quite seven swans a swimming - only 6!
Several beautiful farms along here
Another old barn
We are not sure if these concrete blocks were originally used for some other purpose or not but they make very effective navigation markers - don't get too close! This one had a tree growing on it and a rope ladder. I'm sure the local kids have a ball in the summer!
Beautiful homes, gardens and water toys abound.
The front doors are never quite fit tight so there are always waterfalls of some form. This one was extra pretty I thought.
This is a double lock - we climbed 48 ft total, 24 in each chamber. The tall doors in the back open directly into the next chamber.
It's a LOONGG way up!
Bob waiting to go up. We always wear headphones during docking and locking so we don't have to yell. They work great.
The second chamber just looks normal.
Our stopping point today.
Campbellford is home of the designer of the "Toonie" - Canada's $2 coin.
We had a nice walk through town. Any kids out there remember seeing one of these before?
Every Wednesday evening the town sponsors a concert in the park right next to us so we had docktails with other Loopers and enjoyed the concert!
